Sumner (Sonny) M. Saeks, Principal

dsc_7726retwebWith an extensive background in banking, corporate management and corporate renewal, Sonny Saeks has a very successful track record as a turnaround consultant and interim manager. He has run corporations ranging in size from $65 million to $250 million as an interim manager, and has provided turnaround consulting services to companies with annual revenues from $5 million to over $1 billion. His hands-on experience and know-how enables him to work with businesses of any size to take root and grow, or to develop and implement a strategy for regrowth during a time of crisis.

Sonny understands that each situation is unique. He has the ability to create a sense of calm, especially in crisis situations when management’s emotions can be high.

He gives talks and workshops to businesses on various topics related to corporate renewal. He is a member of The Tri-State Association for Corporate Renewal, the Turnaround Management Association, The American Management Association, and the University of Chicago’s Alumni Association, Cincinnati Chapter.

Sonny holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago – Graduate School of Business, and an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University. He lives in Blue Ash, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati, with his wife and two children, and serves on his executive board and finance committee of his son’s school, and is active in many other committees and volunteer projects in his local community.

The CTP designation is a highly valued and objective measure of a turnaround professional’s experience, knowledge, and integrity that is deemed to be required to conduct corporate renewal work.

As a CTP, a turnaround professional is recognized as possessing a proven track record and years of experience in working with companies or large business units that are in financial crisis. To attain the certification candidates must hold, or have held, positions such as CEO, Chief Restructuring Officer, Turnaround Team Leader, Receiver or Interim Manager during a turnaround. Additionally, each certified professional must have acquired several years of turnaround experience demonstrating substantial knowledge of the legal, financial, and management aspects of a turnaround.
